About the artists

BELFOUNTAIN is the name of the brand new indie-folk-rock project fronted by singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and JUNO Award-winning producer, Chris Graham. The album combined the variety of musical experiences Graham has embarked on over the last two decades, from acoustic singer-songwriter, to indie rock guitarist and frontman, to jazz sideman and producer. Bringing this all together, he has created an authentic, roots-inspired collection of songs that move from alt-folk anthems featuring fiddle solos, to alt-country sing-alongs complete with banjo, mandolin and pedal steel. With influences such as The Strumbellas, Of Monsters and Men and Rufus Wainwright, and a nod to modern production techniques, the sound of Belfountain is an earthy mix of old and new, always familiar yet full of surprises. Graham produced the JUNO Award-winning 2021 album ‘Heart Parade’ for children’s group Splash’N Boots (Feat. Alice Cooper, iskwe, Simon Ward) as well as several other JUNO Award-nominated albums. He recorded, produced and co-wrote the #1 selling albums “Daydream” and “Bandshell” by vocal jazz artist Tia Brazda, as well as the song ‘Undone’ by indigenous artist Marcia Chum, which was nominated for several Native American Music Awards. Graham has toured the world with a variety of acts, performing at such festivals as the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. Previously he recorded, produced, performed with and wrote songs for bands The Framework (Last Gang), CANVAS and FIRExFIRE.

One of Canada’s most recognizable voices in jazz, Tia Brazda’s jazz-pop gems and retro style have established her as a sparkling presence on the jazz scene at home and abroad. Not only a singer but a songwriter as well, Brazda has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, main stage at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, as well as toured many times across North America and Europe, from intimate supper clubs and soft seater theatres to large outdoor festivals. Her music has been described as a “hip pastiche” and a “walking catalog of 20th century jazz styles”, as she is able to move effortlessly between intimate ballads to upbeat swing dance numbers. Her first single “Cabin Fever” broke through in 2012 and she followed that up with the 2015 full-length Bandshell, named as one of the best of the last decade in the Italian press and one of the best of the year by Jazz FM 91 in Toronto. Her 2018 release Daydream saw her exploring new grooves such as bossa nova, soul and tango. Her latest album WHEN I GET LOW finds her delving into the past, interpreting well-known classics from the Great American Songbook and making them her own. It was featured on Radio France, in Jazzwise Magazine (UK), and in The Wholenote Magazine, which said: "You won’t find another singer who vocalizes music – including this classic music – quite like Tia Brazda...she has a fully formed style that is wholly her own."
