After a series of obsessively over-laboured and ultimately unreleased projects, Himalayan Pink began as an effort to get out of creativity’s way. Close friends and collaborators for over a decade, songwriter David Johnstone and multi-instrumentalist Bjorn Kriel started recording demos with saxophonist David Hodgson in early 2021 and within a month released their debut EP, Permanent Vacation. In 2023, the band happily welcomed bassist Adrian Russouw and drummer Ambrose Veno. Blending tongue-in-cheek charisma, fortune cookie philosophy, and the poetry of Eros with the soundscapes of psychedelic folk and rock ’n’ roll, Himalayan Pink will be sure to melt your heart.

Northey (she/her) is a T’karonto-based bedroom producer and Independent dream pop musician. Originally from Calgary, Northey moved to Toronto and completed her Bachelor of Music in Humber College’s Jazz program, as well as her first EP “i have a lot of emotions, here are some of them” at that time. Influenced by artists like Mitski, Blood Orange, 100 Gecs, SZA, Coco & Clair Clair + James Blake, Northey’s production + sound design embark on a semi-maximalist genre-bending bubblegum pop song that you cant quite pin down.
