Born on Cape Breton, raised on PEI and based in Newfoundland Jenina MacGillivray’s songs are deeply located on the islands of Atlantic Canada (friendships in Glace Bay, East Point and St. John’s) and the further afield (lost loves in Portugal, the Isle of Wight and the American Southwest). Her debut LP Marion won Music NL’s Factor Album of the Year and received rave reviews throughout Eastern Canada where it was called “the real deal” (Roots Canada) and “possibly the most beautiful album of the year” (East Magazine)

José Contreras is a Chilean born, Toronto based Artist best
known for singing and playing guitar in proto-indie rock band By Divine Right, which he founded in 1989. He is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist, multiinstrumentalist, visual artist, actor and record producer, having recorded and mixed many beloved records over the last 20 years.... He has scored for film, and has had dozens of songs used in film and Television. He spends a lot of time listening to old records, cooking and doing laundry. With BDR he has released 11 LP’s. He has released 2 solo Lp’s.

In contrast to BDR’s ecstatic rock and roll deconstruction, José’s solo music is sparse and dreamy.
