Kelly McMichael is an artist and producer based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, originally from Peterborough, Ontario. She is a multi-instrumentalist fluent in alternative pop/rock and has toured North America and Europe as a member of acts The Burning Hell, Gentleman Reg, and Sarah Harmer. Kelly’s early songwriting career was established in Ontario around 2007 through DIY feminist synth bands Rouge, and later on, Renders. After a decade as a side player, McMichael’s debut independent album Waves had a breakthrough in 2021, garnering a spot on the Polaris Prize shortlist, three Music NL Awards, and the ECMA for Best Rock Recording.
Kelly’s sophomore album, 'After The Sting Of It' is a genreless expansion on the classic sound of her debut. Recorded and co-produced with Jake Nicoll again, this music sits in the comfort of its core ideas while being utterly unafraid to try new things, including McMichael doing much of the recording herself - out September 18, 2024 on LHM Records.
Catch Kelly on tour with the band in Eastern Canada fall 2024.
Geordie Gordon is a Toronto singer/songwriter and touring member of U.S. Girls and Islands. He started out as a teen in the early 2000s in the Barmitzvah Brothers, and also served as a sideman for Andy Shauf just prior to that songwriter’s 2016 breakthrough. His second solo album, Tambourine, is a folk-tinged personal narrative about teenage awakenings to the wisdom of elders, with a nod to the Hidden Cameras. It’s the album that will introduce the world to Geordie Gordon’s depth of talent as a singer, arranger, lyricist and melodicist.
