Jazz vocalist, Terry Cade, a Toronto native and NYC ex-pat, brings her original music and her original takes on the standard songbook to The Burdock Music Hall for one special night. She’ll be joined by a stellar rhythm section, Tom Reynolds on piano, George Koller on bass and Lorne Nehring on drums. Don’t miss what promises to be an exciting evening of music from some of Toronto’s most innovative musicians!

About the artists

Terry Cade - vocals
Jazz vocalist and composer Terry Cade is a Toronto native and NYC ex-pat. Considered one of Canada’s premier jazz vocalists, she has worked and performed with such jazz greats as Anne Marie Moss (Lambert, Hendricks and Moss), Meredith D’Ambrosio, Fred Stone, John Hicks, Ratzo Harris, Lou Marini Jr., Tony Moreno and Dave Restivo. Hailed by the Toronto Star as “a true jazz vocalist extraordinary”, Cade is described “a masterful vocalist with a clear vision for her music. In her unique approach to the standard songbook and her exquisitely crafted original songs, Cade is pushing forward the art of jazz singing — a must see!” (The Globe and Mail)

Tom Reynolds - piano
Living in Toronto since 2007, Tom Reynolds, a Chicago native and Nashville ex-pat, has worked as music director and toured with Grammy-winning jazz vocal group, “Take Six," and as music director for Engelbert Humperdinck. In addition to touring with Shania Twain, Glen Frey (from the “Eagles”), Reynolds has performed, with jazz greats Jeff Coffin and Bela Fleck, among others. He is also a member of ‘In Orbit’ with Jeff Coffin, Felix Pastorius, and Canadian musicians Michael Occhipinti (guitar) and drummer Davide Direnzo.

George Koller - bass
George Koller is a bassist, producer, composer, multi instrumentalist and promoter of jazz, world and folk music through concerts and his home grown label ZSAN Records (the zenith of science art and nature). In a wildly diverse and expansive career, he has worked with everyone, including Peter Gabriel, Eartha Kitt, Chaka Khan, Eddie Harris, Loreena Mckennitt, David Clayton-Thomas, Jim McCarty (The Yardbirds), Ian Tyson, The Shuffle Demons, Laila Biali, John Mcdermott, Larry Coryell, Karrin Allyson, Phil Woods, Michael Mcdonald, Carvin Winans, Sonny Stitt, Valdy, Eliana Cuevas and Holly Cole and many others.

Lorne Nehring - drums
Juno Award and Jazz Report winning drummer, Lorne Matthew Nehring is originally from Montreal where he began playing piano, saxophone and drums. Lorne studied percussion and began his jazz studies at McGill University. In addition to being a respected educator, Lorne is a much in-demand musician in all aspects of “live” performance as well as in the recording studio. He has played and recorded with the finest Canadian and international musicians and groups including: Tom Reynolds, George Koller, Jeff Coffin, Bob DeAngelis, John MacLeod, David Braid, Aaron Davis, Neal Swainson, Nancy Walker, Rob McConnell, Bernie Senensky, Dave Young, Manteca, The Canadian Jazz Quartet, Jackie Richardson and many others.

We’re located on Bloor Street, just one block west of Dufferin Street. Please enter through our restaurant entrance on Bloor, where you will be greeted by our host and directed to the Music Hall.
